Even after leak, Gulf’s pain may last years

Drilling rigs and workboats operate at the site of the Deepwater Horizon incident in the Gulf of Mexico on Friday. The wellhead has been capped and BP is continuing to test the integrity of the well before resuming production.The slicks on the surface will disappear quickly if the cap on BP’s blown oil well holds. But the oil will remain in the water and in the lives of Gulf Coast residents.
